Jay&Min Completes Mist Faucet Aerator Development and Production for a European Customer

A 2024 project review: Jay&Min worked with a European buyer and designers to progress a mist faucet aerator from structural development to production delivery.

In November 2024, Ningbo Jay&Min Sanitary Tech Co., Ltd completed production and shipment of a mist water-saving faucet aerator for a European customer. The project progressed through design discussions, structural development, sample refinement, trial tooling and batch production, demonstrating Jay&Min’s ability to take a product design through manufacturing and delivery.

The product was developed around mist water flow, with the aim of reducing everyday water use by changing the form of the stream. A European buyer, a product design team and Jay&Min worked together, with Jay&Min responsible for design refinement, structural implementation and manufacturing.

Taking an Active Role in Product Design

The cooperation began in late 2022. Initial sample evaluation, business discussions and factory visits were followed by product development.

In 2023, the customer and design team discussed requirements and outstanding issues with Jay&Min through visits and video meetings. As the discussions progressed, the customer invited Jay&Min to contribute to the design and propose a solution.

Project customer and Jay&Min team during a factory visit

In August that year, the design team visited Jay&Min to discuss the product concept and structural issues. Jay&Min submitted an initial design in September, establishing a foundation for sample development and the production structure.

For Jay&Min, this meant combining design ideas with manufacturing experience, verifying structural adjustments through samples and developing a design suitable for production.

Refining the Product Through Repeated Sampling

Following the initial proposal, the project entered repeated sampling and refinement. Between September and November 2023, the teams reviewed 3D samples, confirmed the design and progressed to trial tooling.

Sample feedback covered mist and spray performance, the stream pattern at low flow and sealing details. Jay&Min worked with the customer and designers to refine the samples and move from drawings and models to actual water-flow evaluation.

Between March and April 2024, trial-tooling samples passed an SGS life test of 20,000 cycles. Core components also underwent industrial CT measurement and met the project requirements, providing a basis for production tooling.

Completing Production Tooling and Delivery

The project entered production tooling in May 2024. In September, production samples were sent to TÜV in Germany and passed functional and chemical testing.

Batch production followed. The customer and a third party carried out inspection in October, and the products were shipped on 6 November.

Each stage required cooperation between the buyer, designers and manufacturer. Jay&Min contributed structural development, sample refinement, tooling and manufacturing, progressively turning the product concept into a deliverable product.

Continuing Cooperation in Water-Saving Product Development

The project added to Jay&Min’s experience in mist faucet aerator development and manufacturing, and demonstrated its ability to work with international buyers and design teams.

Jay&Min will continue to support water-saving sanitary product development and manufacturing, helping brands, buyers and designers progress from product proposals to production and delivery.

A small aerator connects design, manufacturing and everyday water use. Jay&Min looks forward to developing more water-saving products with partners and bringing good designs into practical use.
